THE DESIGN STORY
The Artemis Choker takes its name from Artemis, the ancient Greek goddess of the wilderness and the hunt - a figure associated with independence, strength and the natural world.
Sculptural and close-fitting, the choker follows the line of the neck with an organic, almost instinctive form. Its irregularity is intentional, reflecting YSSO’s fascination with objects that retain the trace of the hand that made them.
Bold yet elemental, Artemis is designed as an object to wear: a contemporary interpretation of adornment shaped by the forms and mythology of ancient Greece. Fully adjustable, and created meticulously by hand using our won proprietary techniques it is created to resemble the effect of traditional Greek lace wrapped around the neck.
ETHOS
Produced in a family run workshop of 7 workmen and women, our pieces are exclusively carved and crafted by hand in Athens, using Ancient Greek jewellery-making techniques and silversmithing. As champions of slow production, we create only small quantities per design. If a piece is sold out you are welcome to place a pre-order, which has a three week turnaround period, for a piece to be made exclusively for you.
