In Greek mythology, the Labyrinth, was an elaborate, confusing structure designed and built by the legendary artificer Daedalus, King Minos of Knossos. Its function was to hold the Minotaur, a monster portrayed in Classical times witth he head and tail of a bull and the body of a man.
A labyrinth is an ancient symbol that relates to wholeness. It combines the imagery of the circle and the spiral into a meandering but purposeful path. The Labyrinth represents a journey to our own center and back again out into the world.
