THE DESIGN STORY

The Medusa Necklace draws on one of the most powerful figures in Greek mythology, which is a carved snake. Once a mortal woman renowned for her beauty, Medusa was transformed into a Gorgon, crowned with snakes and said to possess a gaze that could turn onlookers to stone. But far from a figure of fear, Medusa came to symbolise protection and strength — her image used throughout antiquity to guard against harm and evil.

Produced in a family run workshop of 7 workmen and women, our pieces are exclusively carved and crafted by hand in Athens, using Ancient Greek jewellery-making techniques and silversmithing. As champions of slow production, we create only small quantities per design. If a piece is sold out you are welcome to place a pre-order, which has a three week turnaround period, for a piece to be made exclusively for you.
