THE DESIGN STORY
A sculptural expression of contrast, the Onyx Sun Necklace pairs rich black onyx beads with our signature hand-sculpted golden sun motif. The polished beads form a bold sweep of colour, punctuated by the organic texture and irregular rays of the sun.
Handcrafted in Athens by our family-run workshops, the piece draws on the enduring symbolism of the Mediterranean sun - a source of energy, vitality and renewal. The vivid black onyx brings a striking new dimension to the form, contrasting against the warmth of the gold.
Designed as a statement piece that still feels distinctly YSSO: tactile, sculptural and rooted in the landscape and symbolism of Greece.
ETHOS
Produced in a family run workshop of 7 workmen and women, our pieces are exclusively carved and crafted by hand in Athens, using Ancient Greek jewellery-making techniques and silversmithing. As champions of slow production, we create only small quantities per design. If a piece is sold out you are welcome to place a pre-order, which has a three week turnaround period, for a piece to be made exclusively for you.
