THE DESIGN
"Filo", meaning "leaf" in Greek, was often used to make laurel wreaths. Laurel wreaths signify triumph and would be worn by the victors of the Ancient Olympic Games. The Greek god Apollo is also often depicted wearing a laurel wreath in association with Daphne, a nymph who turned into a laurel tree in the protection of Apollo’s one-sided pursuit. The Filo Earrings pay homage to these many meanings while keeping the imperfection found in nature with the tear in the middle and uneven texture.
